Water Bailiffs

The Board operates a team of Water Bailiffs who are on duty in shifts 365/24/7

Their primary duty is to enforce the laws.

See:

The rights to fish for salmon and freshwater fish in Scotland.

Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act (Consolidation) (Scotland) 2003.

Powers of Water Bailiffs

Water bailiffs are there to protect salmon and sea trout and their environment. They are a friendly troop, but take their duties very seriously.

They have powers of arrest and confiscation, including tackle and vehicles.
