In 2003 of a new salmon hatchery
was built by the Tay District Salmon Fisheries
Board. The new state-of-the-art facility initially
had a capacity to incubate 2,000,000 eggs though this
has since been extended. It uses advanced cooling techniques
which are used to recreate the natural conditions desirable
for Spring salmon.
