Crayfish project confirmed to have worked

The crayfish erradication project on a Tay tributary was completed in in 2006. One year later in October 2007 traps were set over a 2 day period. No adults were found.

Since the traps only catch adults it is possible (but unlikely) that juveniles survived.

It therefore looks like all the hard work was justified, but just to be sure further monitoring will be undertaken in subsequent years.
